Sudhanshu Panday Takes Indirect Dig At Sunita Ahuja, Says Girls Abuse More Than Boys': 'Wife Of Senior..'

Actor Sudhanshu Pandey appears to have taken an indirect swipe at Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja, over her conduct on Netflix's Lock Upp. While the actor did not mention Sunita by name, he referred to "the wife of a very senior actor" while speaking about the increasing use of abusive language on reality shows. His remarks have since sparked discussion online, with many linking them to Sunita, who has often made headlines for her arguments and strong language on the show.

Sharing his views during a live session on social media, Sudhanshu questioned why abusive behaviour is now being celebrated as entertainment. He said he finds it worrying that such content is becoming increasingly popular on social media and digital platforms.

"People are liking such things on Instagram, which I find cringe-worthy. There are many such things that are becoming popular. Is our country's mentality changing so much? I won't say only the new generation has changed. Maybe the last two generations have also changed a lot because people like things that I think are very harmful for our society," Sudhanshu said.

He then revealed that although he does not usually watch reality shows, he recently came across clips from an OTT reality series that left him shocked because of the contestants' language and behaviour.

"Recently, I saw some clippings of a reality show on an OTT channel. Everyone was openly abusing each other. Sometimes I am surprised that these days girls are abusing more than necessary, even more than boys. I feel the cool quotient has been completely misunderstood," he said.

Without identifying anyone directly, Sudhanshu went on to mention that a senior actor's wife, who is currently part of the show, was also seen using abusive language. He questioned whether celebrities should be setting a better example for younger audiences.

"I have seen that although a wife of a very senior actor and is a star in the industry, who is a part of the show as well, she is also openly abusing others. What kind of example are we setting for the world? We have grown up, we have become seniors. If we cannot set a good example for the younger generation, then what are we doing?" he questioned.

The actor also expressed concern over the growing acceptance of verbal abuse as a form of entertainment, saying society would suffer if insulting others became the easiest way to gain attention.

"If abusing others and insulting people has become the only way to showcase yourself, then I feel, as a society, we are completely ruined."

Sudhanshu further spoke about the importance of speaking responsibly and reminded people that words can deeply influence others.

"Words have a lot of power. Your two words can change someone's life. We should always try to speak positively and responsibly because our words carry energy," he said.

He concluded by urging television channels and OTT platforms to think carefully about the kind of content they are promoting, stressing that entertainment should not encourage behaviour that negatively influences society.
